About this book

Discover the secrets of written persuasion! "The principles of hypnosis, when applied to copywriting, add a new spin to selling. Joe Vitale has taken hypnotic words to set the perfect sales environment and then shows us how to use those words to motivate a prospect to take the action you want. This is truly a new and effective approach to copywriting, which I strongly recommend you learn. It's pure genius."-Joseph Sugarman, author of Triggers "I've read countless book on persuasion, but none come close to this one in showing you exactly how to put your readers into a buying trance that makes whatever you are offering them irresistible."-David Garfinkel, author of Advertising Headlines That Make You Rich "I am a huge fan of Vitale and his books, and Hypnotic Writing (first published more than twenty years ago), is my absolute favorite. Updated with additional text and fresh examples, especially from e-mail writing, Joe's specialty, Hypnotic Writing is the most important book on copywriting (yes, that's really what it is about) to be published in this century. Read it. It will make you a better copywriter, period."-Bob Bly, copywriter and author of The Copywriter's Handbook "I couldn't put this book down. It's eye opening and filled with genuinely new stuff about writing and persuading better. And it communicates it brilliantly and teaches it brilliantly-exemplifying the techniques by the writing of the book itself as you go along."-David Deutsch, author of Think Inside the Box, www.thinkinginside.com "Hypnotic Writing is packed with so much great information it's hard to know where to start. The insights, strategies, and tactics in the book are easy to apply yet deliver one heck of a punch. And in case there's any question how to apply them, the before-and-after case studies drive the points home like nothing else can. Hypnotic Writing is not just about hypnotic writing. It is hypnotic writing. On the count of three, you're going to love it. Just watch and see."-Blair Warren, author of The Forbidden Keys to Persuasion

A lot of useful information here. Recommended to anyone who writes. Geared toward advertising writing. Good pointers for blog and website writing. Almost good enough for a 4 star rating. I just took 10 pages of notes for future reference, then it will go back to the library.

Quite an interesting book about how to write and make sure what you write is being read. Everyone can pick this book up and read them though the contents are geared towards the commercial side of things.Nonetheless, I find this book revealing as well as practical.

В книжке отличные приемы по написанию текстов. А вот представленные рекламные слоганы не всегда подойдут по наши реалии. У российского народа больше скептицизма.

I would like to say that I think this is a good and useful book but it is not what I was looking for.The first quarter of the book is very weak though. The author basically keeps repeating nonstop how good he is, he is the master of hypnotical writing and has a lot of experience. I started to think this book was a waste of time and money. (For this alone, two stars less) It gets better with the beginning of chapter 14 where it starts to give you actual tips and advice how to improve your writing. That said, I always had the feeling that this was a guide how to set up a scam. I know a lot of web pages which make use of this stuff and all of them come across as a scam instantly, which no sane human being would take seriously. It probably works, otherwise they would not exist.

Does spend a bit too long setting you up, but, it's a very entertaining ride. And, unlike most books on writing copy, it is actually helpful. Vitale peels away the b.s. and really gives you what you're looking for: actual methods for using buyer psychology to write better ads.May not be a great book for brainstorming techniques, but gives a huge number of methods for using word-judo, overcoming resistance, taking advantage of reader momentum, seizing attention and holding on to it.After reading and re-reading, you really feel like you have been given a taste of what the top persuasion experts have been keeping secret.

I have enjoyed everything I have read by Joe Vitale because he is generous with his information. This book leaves me interested but also curious about right use of words in marketing. It bridged some gaps for me between my writing and my ad copy, but it left me wondering about the ethics of language in marketing.

Actually, I can not imagine if I live without writing something.I am so curious to explore my hand-writing talent and....this outstanding book helps me to finish what I've been made.

Admittedly, Joe's books are a bit self-promotional, but I always learn a few new techniques/motivators.

It had a lot of good ideas that I've tried to put into practice. Like another book I've read by Joe Vitale, it could get repetitive.

I must admit the title was an intriguing one. But after reading the first 6 chapters, I realised it wsa all hype. By the time I got to the 6th chapter, I still couldn't find exactly what he ws trying to say. It was all noise, hype, BS, whatever you would call it. Nothing earthshaking, and indeed a poor excuse for a book. I am returning it to the store. If you can't engage a discerning reader within 3 chapters, you have failed.

Joe Vitale. Now this guy is smart. Not just smart – super smart. I mean he has very intelligently tilted a book on copywriting as ‘Hypnotic writing’Oh my goodness!I can just imagine what it had done for his book sales. In fact, I myself got attracted to the title simply because of that very small change in the title. Coming to the book itself. 56 Chapters, 262 pages. Most of the chapters around one or two pages with only one chapter going up to say 10 pages. The chapters are easy to read, have plenty of examples and anecdotes. But here is the smart bit.On almost every page, he is marketing his website, his services a nd his group of buddies (whom I am sure scratch his back too for the bit of marketing he has done). And let me be the first to admit, he is a super smart slick salesman. I mean he knows his subject, he knows how to play with words and he knows how to play around with your head. For instance, he will show you an old advertising write up (which is a no brainer – it is poorly done) and then he shows what he was able to do for this client – where he puts up his best words and then gives you the question that answers itself stating ‘You will be amazed to notice the changes! It not only made the writing more interesting, it also resulted into ten times more the sales revenue!’. So in your mind you will be saying to yourself ‘Oh yeah….he is right’.Honestly Joe, I am impressed. I even checked your website, checked your profile, searched your products and was curious as to who are you?But here is the other side to the coin.If the guy is so good, how come he is not such a big thing? That is where amazon.com came in handy. He does seem to have a few bad reviews here and there. You see, he belongs to the ‘The Secret’ group who visualize success and see things through the minds eye. So coming back to the book, lets summarize. On the plus side:1. Easy to read2. Lots of stories and examples3. Small chapters that motivate you to read more4. There are nuggets of wisdom5. Good information presented in an interesting mannerOn the negative side:1. He is marketing himself, his website and his services almost on every other page. 2. There is a lot of fluff. The chapters & the content could have been reduced significantly3. Some of the chapters are a total waste of time and space4. If you are smart, you will realize there is no such thing as ‘hypnotic writing’. It simply just great copywriting5. He could have summarized all this point towards the end – which he did not. So overall, even with all the short comings, I would say, it is not a bad book. I still liked it. But more than anything else, I was simply impressed at his intelligent ability to camouflage his real intention of marketing himself secretly throughout the book. A very smart man. And a brilliant sales man that too.Overall Rating – 6.5 out of 10. Loy Machedoloymachedo.com

Essential for anyone engaged in persuasive writing: sales, grants, love letters, etc. Sometimes seems a bit "hokey", yet more often stimulating.
