Amazing AutoBio of William Henry Jackson, 1843-1942, who spent his early years in Rutland, VT. , fought in the 12th Regiment, 2nd Vermont Brigade during the Civil War (including Gettysburg). being a huge supporter of Lincoln. After the war, departed Rutland and embarked on a singular career photographing for the 1ST TIME all the natural wonders of the American West. In the 1890's he went on a lengthy world tour (3 yrs), and photographed most, if not all, the world's large cities and wonders as well. His life spans all the major developments of photography, from cumbersome wet plates that had to be developed on the spot, to 35mm film, and color film.
